School of Biblical English
Degree in Biblical English (30 credits)
This 10-course program equips leaders with skills to read, interpret, and communicate Scripture effectively in English. Participants will deepen their understanding of biblical texts while developing English language skills for ministry. Each course focuses on improving grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and public speaking with a focus on biblical content. Assignments encourage reflection, discussion, and the practical use of English in teaching, preaching, and public speaking.

ENG001: Introduction to Biblical English (3 credits)
Explore the distinctive features of Biblical English compared to modern English. Translate Psalm 23 into conversational English.
ENG002: Building Biblical Vocabulary (3 credits)
Learn key theological terms from Scripture and their usage. Write a reflection on the significance of 'Word' in John 1:1.
ENG003: Grammar and Sentence Structure in Biblical English (3 credits)
Understand syntax, verb tenses, and parallelism in Scripture. Rewrite Proverbs 3:5-6 in simple sentences while preserving meaning.
ENG004: Reading Comprehension of Biblical Texts (3 credits)
Develop strategies for reading Scripture with depth. Summarize Isaiah 53 and analyze key themes in the Beatitudes.
ENG005: Understanding Biblical Poetry and Prose (3 credits)
Analyze poetic language, metaphors, and narrative forms in Scripture. Write an essay on the literary devices in the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
ENG006: Public Speaking and Preaching with Biblical English (3 credits)
Prepare and deliver a devotional on 1 Corinthians 13, focusing on pronunciation and clarity.
ENG007: Writing for Ministry: Devotionals, Sermons, and Articles (3 credits)
Write a devotional on Philippians 4:4-9 and an article on the theme of joy in Scripture.
ENG008: Paraphrasing and Summarizing Biblical Texts (3 credits)
Paraphrase Romans 8:1-11 in modern English and create a children’s version of Galatians 5:22-23.
ENG009: Cross-Cultural Communication Using Biblical English (3 credits)
Adapt biblical content for cross-cultural ministry. Reflect on the meaning of Pentecost and translate Colossians 3:11 with a focus on unity in diversity.
ENG010: Integrating Biblical English in Ministry (3 credits)
Develop a Bible study lesson plan on 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Write a final paper on the importance of biblical literacy in ministry.
